Not-Mikan Watch: Natsu no Arashi

I don’t care how much screen real-estate you are taking up – if you aren’t on a a box (or at least a picture of a box), you aren’t getting in.

Although, whilst I’m on the subject of cans, I was kind of surprised by the old-school ring pull on the can – I don’t see too many of those around these parts these days. Are these still common in Japan, or is the show just being typically antiquated?

Also, the conversation where Kaya attempts to explain, with no success whatsoever, that the milk would still be sour even if they did take in back in time two months was hilarious.

Natsu no Arashi is set in the easy-going 80s before the “lost decade”, same as Kamichu. Although, bizzaredly they refer to Arashi’s “60-year-old memory”, which would make it all happen in 2005, but really doesn’t.

Clearly I’ve been failing to pay enough attention ^^;
