Unfunny Internet Meme Comics #6-25

Apparently Wednesdays comic was considered a bit too obtuse for people to actually get, given that it assumed that -
(a) You know how iDOLM@STER works
(b) You knew about iM@S Dearly Stars
(c) You knew about the voice cast of Dearly Stars
(d) You’d seen most of Kannagi, therefore knew that Zange couldn’t sing.
(e) Preferably the thirteenth episode, so that you might have gotten where the lyrics were from.
(f) You knew Eri and Zange had the game voice actress.
This amount to a comic that few other than myself actually got. That was probably marginally better than when I first started doing these comics, when I tended towards begin obscure and obtuse that absolutely nobody got them, but I admit I find that amusing in it’s own way.
In response, I decided to go for a simpler gag today, that joke being “Japan makes porn games LoL”, though it turns out that might not be true all that much longer for most of the companies making these things.
The actual background news to the comic is all those E3 press conferences that have been going on this week, in particular the Microsoft one where they announced “Project Natal”, their flashy new motion-sensing 3D camera thingy. The significant part of the presentation was when Peter Molyneux showed up on stage to show off Lionheads new project, Milo – a virtual, 12-year old, upper-class British boy with a bizarre fixation on doing this homework. The presentation didn’t even have a chance to finish before I saw a “I’ve just seen the future of eroge!” comment, and that was on a games forums which is generally down on that kind of subject. It’s unlikely to actually happen with the kinds of budgets eroge typically work on, but I figured I’d go for it comic-wise anyway.

lol, I think every otaku who watched that video had this exact thought (i know I did). Although there were some who went ‘but it’s 3d! pig disgusting!’
