Unfunny Internet Meme Comics #6-26

You may be able to find a substitute for someone who has been removed from existence, but that replacement isn’t necessarily going to inherit their streak of misfortune, regardless of how much it is wished upon them.

And, you know, some people are just nice and all that.

Okay, so I’m ‘phoning the comic in today. I blame the lack of anything interesting to comic about occurring over the weekend. I had thought about doing something about the bizarre apparent exclusion of Hypnotism from the ban on rape related game content, in so much as it makes me think of the old, South Park “They’re coming straight for us!”/”Let’s thin out their numbers!” jokes, but I don’t really want to dwell on that news story.

In reality, I’ve been busy playing *deep breath* Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzonoha verus The Soulless Army *gasp!*. That’s the first Raidou Kuzonoha game – the arrival of the second having prompted me to think about actually getting around to playing it.

Though now I’m stuck at that annoying moment all these games have just before the end – I’m at the last save point, it’s easy for me to get there, but I don’t appear to be ready to take on the final boss. Well, I wasn’t this morning at least, but since then I’ve added about six hours to my game time of doing nothing but the tedious kind of stuff you wish the game wouldn’t foist upon you at this point in the game. I suppose the bright side of it is that I should now at least have the Demon Registry completion percentage required for the maximum benefit when playing Raidou Kuzonoha versus Kind Abbadon.

Last attempt at the last boss (admittedly, only really my third, and the first since I went and levelled a bit) saw me breeze through the first two forms, but I got mauled by the third. I’m not sure if that was just lack of knowing what to expect, or lack of preparation, but I can’t say I’m really enthused to have another try given it takes a good fifteen minutes to get that far.

-update- Okay, it turns out that I, in fact, kind of suck – upon retrying that boss, it turns out that it was something of a cakewalk, and I’m not finding it hard to figure out how I managed to get wiped out so quickly the first time around…

Do you always play the first game before a sequel? Personally if the latest game is out I’d just play that unless the first game is really good.

If I’ve had it sat on my shelf unplayed for the last two years, generally yes. Chances are that after playing the sequel, the previous game in the series would just irritate due to it lacking some of the features and niceties of the game which followed (and from what I gather, this would definitely have been the case with the Raidou games).
