There’s been something of a lack of anything particularly interesting going on in anime fandom recently, which, frankly, isn’t very conductive when you are trying to come up with comics three times a week. Lord knows, for this entry, I almost, once again, went back to the one thing which is presently omnipresent – that is, Haruhi. If I don’t stumble across anything interesting in the next couple of day, you now know what you are likely to get on Wednesday.
Thank goodness, then, for this weeks Saki, where in a typically, well, Saki-esque twist, it turns out that the secret behind Saki unlocking her amazing MahJong skills to their fullest is that she needs to take her shoes off.
No, I’m not kidding, and I’m sure that anyone who has actually been watching the show will have no trouble believing this.

It’s not any stranger than the fact that Yuuki needs to be eating something that is named “tako”, whether mexican food or little weiners cut to look like octopuses. Or Nodoka’s stuffed penguin.
There’s been a lot of weird stuff like that in this series.

Obviously, it’s just that Saki likes feeling comfortable when playing, and taking off her shoes (and sometimes socks) does that. Interesting how you take it one step further though.
