I’m presently suffering from Saki withdrawl symptoms – not particularly because I feel the requirement to watch Saki week after week, but because I’m not suffering from a lack of things to write about in this bit of the post here. Goodness knows what’s going to happen when it ends – I guess I’ll have to struggle to write about something else…

Actually, I’ve spent much of my weekend playing the new Batman game, Arkham Asylum. I cleared the game (with 100% of the Riddler content) yesterday, though, the result of just two play sessions. This isn’t to say that the game is short, but rather that it was good enough that I just sat down and played it pretty much constantly for a period of two days. It’s certainly one of the better games that I’ve played though this year, though I admit that a lot of that probably comes down to me being really behind on my gaming these days.

Still, a good game based on a DC superhero property. Those, whilst not non-existent, are kind of rare. Certainly, they’ve not fared as well as Marvel have over the years. There’s some real Marvel stinkers out there as well, but at least there were the Capcom fighters and a few decent Spiderman games over the years. Batman’s record, whilst significantly better than Superman’s (has there ever been a genuinely good Superman game?), has still been spotty at best. I have to say, prior of Arkham, my favourite Batman games were the old, UK 1980’s ones – though one of them had little to actually do with Batman, Caped Crusader was pretty neat.

Anyhow, Arkham Asylum. Neat game.

Actually, I had been thinking of doing a Batman/Arkham-related comic for the post today, but I figured that no-one would get it. Not that that would be anything particularly new.
