Unfunny Internet Meme Comics #6-64

Distinctive visual traits do not necessarily denote the existence of an affinity for games of chances. There is always coincidence, however.

My copy of Haikasoru’s English print of Otsuichi’s Zoo turned up in the mail today, which is a bit on the early side. It’s about time too – I’ve just finished up Lords of Sands of Time (review coming if I can think of something to say about it) and the most recent Vampire Hunter D book (a post expressing my feelings on is presently in the “I’m thinking about it” phase, the prospect of having to find my copies of the books to refresh myself of their contents being the main stumbling block). I was about to dip into my vast pile of *gasp*unread western science fiction! Ei gads!

PSN is rubbish. Well, the European PSN is rubbish. Fate/Unlimited Codes for PSP was released as a download title yesterday, at the not-exactly-cheap price of £24 (It’s $30 in the US, which whilst not cheap itself, is still cheaper than the European release even when VAT is taken into account). The cost isn’t really the issue, though – I’m willing to suffer it for a janky F/SN fighting game rendered into a language other than Moonspeak. The real issue is that the game – just a nudge under 600mb – took FOUR AND A HALF-FRICKEN-HOURS to download. This isn’t congestion on my end, either – I was the only person on my network at the time, and know fine well that it should really have taken less than an hour.

So since I had the PSP out for once, whilst I was waiting I started playing that Prinny game. Prinnies are awesome, though that game isn’t half difficult (it shouldn’t really be a surprise given it starts you with 1000 lives). Shredded my thumb playing that, meaning that by the time I’d gotten Unlimited Codes onto my PSP, I didn’t really feel like playing it.

Which is probably just as well, as at that point I discovered I needed a firmware update, and frankly at that point I really couldn’t be arsed, and I just went to bed instead.

I’m sure I had a third matter to talk about here today as well, but honestly, I’ve forgotten what it was. Never mind.
