Just to prove that I do, in fact, watch shows other than Miracle Train and Natsu no Arashi, here’s an Asura Cryin’ themed comic. For those not watching the show, last weeks episode had a particularly amusing moment where Tomo^1 was killed by a gunshot to the chest. Tomo^1, who was previously portrayed as an enigmatic, invincible superpower who could steamroller over everything. By a gunshot, in a show featuring all sorts of demons, giant robots, sword-wielders and girls made of rocket launchers flailing around with often little-to-no harm induced upon personages.

Hilarious? Certainly was.

Actually, the last couple of episodes of Asura Cryin’ have been pretty insane. I don’t mean insane in the way that Asura Cryin’ is normally insane, with all it’s talking koala’s and deliberate twin confusion (I’m also amused that they finally cleared that matter up entirely just at the point where the death of one twin and the probably-fake-death of the other made it rather irrelevant). Instead, it’s been insane in the shear amounts of stuff of import happening in a generally crazy manner, by which I mean sudden deaths, betrayals and things exploding. The kind of insane stuff which makes a show exciting and awesome, as opposed to the “hey, our leg’s a stuck together by glue” kind of content the show has seen in prior weeks which just makes it dumb. This is good, though I can’t imagine the pace will last.
