Unfunny Internet Meme Comics #4-20

I have to wonder if certain Japanese TV networks have been watching a different version of Higurashi to the rest of the world, as otherwise it’s apparent cancellation seems a little silly to me. It’s not like it’s an American action movie which glamorises violence with crazy stunts and snappy one-liners, nor is it like a shlock horror movie where it reveals in the delight of increasingly elaborate and crazy death sequences.

Unless there’s some kind of significant change in Kai (I have to admit, I’ve been following the show on R1 – guess I’m in for a wait to see the rest ^^;), the violence in Higurashi is always shown as being shocking and horrific. It’s not really shown as being cool or a valid way to solve ones problems. It’s kind of the antithesis of the kind of show I would have thought would have inspired violence in youg’uns.

Meh, I’m feeling really lousy today. I’m not sure what my posting schedule for the coming week will be as a result – if I persist in feeling unwell, I’ll probably not feel like throwing anything together, and I’ve not really got anything backlogged to post at the moment.

LOL. I think this comic is more disturbing than anything I’ve seen on Higurashi or School Days. And you didn’t even turn the red blood into black ink!

So bad punny, I enjoyed it. As well as the Ni-Paaaargh.

I saw the first season, and I did like that the violence that occured wasn’t supposed to make us feel great, though I think some people still think that way. And I’ve heard that Kai clarifies some things from the first season, but at the moment, I don’t think I’m in the mood to take a look. Maybe as Halloween gets closer. :/
