Disgaea 3 has quite a few mikan boxes in it – they are used for your characters desks for those generated with a low aptitude, and they are used as a platform for your character whilst they’re trying to pass proposals. The thing is that, whilst they are clearly for storing oranges, none of them actually have Mikan written on them – well, not at least as far as I can see (even in HD, it takes a lot of squinting at the screen to try and make out what’s written on the things). Can I actually count these as Mikan boxes, or not?

In any case, much of this weekend has been blowing playing Disgaea rather than watching anime – this weeks anime viewing for me amounts to little more than a couple of dozen old episodes of Naruto on DVD, on which I have nothing to say. I’ve actually made alarming good progress though Disgaea – I’m about half way through Chapter 7 (or 8), and most of my party is well over levelled and over equipped (indeed, cash is of no shortage). I’ve barely crossed over the 20 hour mark too – I’ll probably have the actual game finished tomorrow, though I’ll then have to start the long grind up to the 1000′s level wise if I so much as want to take on any of the cameo characters.

No solid anime news worth talking about this week – there’s tales of Geneon USA being close to signing a distribution deal which will see some of the rest of their output on the shelves, but it’s nothing definitive. Episode 1 of S.ifr is out on DVD in Japan mid-week, but I have some Baccano in with that, and that doesn’t hit until a week later. It’s all very exciting, though. Come to think of it, this volume of Baccano has the first of the OAV episodes on it too. Good stuff.

Also, someone needs to prod DS into posting the next 4-koma…
