Random Wafflage: Go My Way Edition

Man, I soooo can’t draw….

Particularly in Photoshop. I totally need to get around to getting another Sai license (which, coincidently, is why I’m still behind on Linebarrels).

Anyway, iDOLM@STER is out for the PSP today. Or tomorrow. Well, I’m sure it’s out somewhere by now. Despite earlier reservations, I have to admit that I do have all three versions of the game on pre-order. What can I say, it was my birthday over the weekend, and I have to somehow treat myself in order to counter the depression associated with reaching the ripe old age of 29.

On a vaguely related note, D3 publisher have announced a new Xbox 360 Renai game, Dream Club, in which (from what I gather) you try to woo the workers at a hostess bar. Not a few people have already pointed out that some of the character designs are rather, ummm, familiar. The games user interface looks to be highly informed by 360 iM@S as well – the hud layout and the menu design all have a very familiar feel to it. Then there’s the whole dress up karaoke thing it’s got going on.

I mean, I guess I’ll buy it – I need to justify having an import rather than a domestic 360 after all – but I’ll probably be laughing at it’s blatantness a whole lot. I guess this kind of thing shouldn’t really come as too much of a surprise coming from the publisher of The Oneechanbara.

Surprised I’ve not seen this mentioned on Sankaku yet, though. Seems like the kind of thing they’d be all over…

As for other things of interest, I note that the last of the Negima Ala Alba DVDs is out today. I got my shipping notice this morning, so all is good. I’m looking forward to seeing it. Of course, it’s not the last last of the OADs, since they’ve just announced another series which sounds to be following pretty much straight on from the end of this series. I would say that any Negima is good, but we’ve been proven wrong on that count a few times in the past. More Shaft Negima is a good thing at least.

Actually, I’ve spent much of my weekend re-reading the whole present English run of the manga, from volume one through to volume twenty, something which has largely been inspired by watching Negima!?. You know what? I still really like that series. Not the most interesting of comments, I realise, but whatever. I’m just padding out this post now anyway. I’ve totally run out of things to say. I realise that I’m probably forgetting something, but that’s not exactly unusual anyway. I think I’ll just quit now before I ramble on too much ^^;

Idolmaster PSP looks much worse than the 360(J), according to promotional videos.

Not too surprising. The 360 probably has ten times the CPU power, plus a lot better graphics chip. And a higher resolution display. And better sound. And a lot more memory.
