Random Wafflage: Crowbar Edition

Housekeepers of the world beware – Nami wields a +10 Crowbar of Maid-smiting.
Oh, cripes, it’s been a whole, errr, ten days since my last post. There’s a very good reason for that – I’ve had absolutely nothing to post about, one of those other things getting in the way kind of situations, really. I was going to say “Real Life getting in the way”, which is mostly the case, but it is true that I’ve wasted an awful lot of time on Resident Evil 5 and Star Ocean 4 over the weekend. The prior is fun, but not really Resident Evil any more. The later I’m not so sure about – I’m enjoying it, but at the same time I’m not really liking any of the character outside the initial three, and the writing is frequently cringe worthy (which wouldn’t be so bad if it didn’t do it at great length). Honestly, I preferred SO3, but I realise that I’m kind of in a minority when it comes to liking that game.
I’m scratching my head over things to say already… I have to admit, I did eventually break down and order at least the first Blu-Ray of Sora wo Kakeru Shoujo – exchange rate be damned, I’m curious about the extended cut of the first episode the home release is going to be sporting. That said, I’m not sure if I’m going to be posting about it – the lack of computer-based BR drive kind of makes posting about content on that format a bit of a pain, particularly when trying to discuss content. That’s not out until next month, though.
There seems to be much excitement surrounding the apparent announcement of Scientific Railguns anime adaptation. I guess the story of a girl who can fire coins at hypersonic speeds are her crazy, teleporting lesbian stalker room mate strikes people as being awfully more exciting than a show about a girl who knows everything about magic but can’t actually use the stuff and a guy whose power is cancelling out other people powers. I really can’t see why that is…
Please note, I was being sarcastic there – let’s face it, such incredibly passive powers don’t exactly lead to awesome action sequences, so of course Railgun is likely to be more exciting. I’m not really sure I’d get my hopes up for anything more than an OAV at the point, though.
My MariMite third season DVDs should turn up tomorrow. Nothing interesting about that, but I do like me some MariMite.

Woa these new thin confining lines make me swoon. And shading!
I wonder what are those piles of guano for? Inside joke about the series, I bet.

I finally stopped procrastinating about purchasing another Sai license, so I’m now actually using something I can produce clean linework with…
As for the guano, the inside joke is my cack-handed artiness ^^;

Oh come on, Index has GREAT action sequences. Like the time Touma ran forward with his right hand extended! And… the other time he did that!
(it has pretty FX animation. In the first few episodes, which is all I watched before I got bored)
(um. I think I have maybe undermined my point a little there.)
Besides, screw that, Bones are doing a show about an earthquake in July, that’s MUCH cooler than hypersonic coins :p
