From the fifth MariMite 3rd Season OAV, “Souers Run Mild In Rome” (well, OK, it’s actually called “Ciao Sorella”), comes this beautifully rendered 2 Euro coin. I guess it’s rather more ambitious than a card, at least.

Whilst this was an OAV series rather than a TV show like Figure 17, I have to admit that it’s nice to see something else using that double-length episode format. Too many OAVs of recent have been restricting themselves to same limitations as most TV shows – Hellsing Ultimates “it’ll be as long as it needs to be” approach is the only exception that immediately springs to mind in terms of running length.

Of course, in MariMite, that extra running time is really just used to encapsulate what other shows would probably do in one episode in that leisurely fashion that MariMite tends towards. That fine, though.

The animation of Yumi writing out her postcard for Sachiko is rather well done, particularly given it’s the kind of thing that tends to be animated around rather than tackled head-on thanks to it’s fiddly nature.
