Because obviously, the thing to do when faced with new competition in the cartoon idol space is to stay one-step ahead of the game by renewing your efforts at a higher scale!

Anyway, pretty exciting news to wake up to, if rather immediately tempered by the realisation that, with the way these things usually work out, it’ll probably be two or three years by the time it’s released and filters down to a BD release and I’m able to actually see the thing. Maybe I should track down the SLA program director at the GFT this afternoon and start bugging him about it already…

Mostly because I’ve yet to reach my two-post-a-week quotient, but also because I’m always kind of curious as to how Japanese disks with English subtitles turn out, particularly when there’s no stream or western disk for them to pull subtitles off, as is the case with the recently released first volumes of Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure and Code Geass:Akito the Exiled.

Part of me thinks that I should really pick a new favourite character, given the recent Nico-favouritism being displayed in many of my frequent haunts. Then I remember that the reason behind her popularity is that she’s clearly the best character, thus rendering it an exercise in futility…
